Breville Smart Air™ Viral Protect Compact Purifier LAP208

I was very excited to test this product, my youngest has asthma and allergies and is constantly congested negatively impacting his sleep. We tried it for two days after which it stopped working. Contacting Breville was difficult with staff available during business hours and no online chat available at the time with my work roster. Eventually we were able to arrange a replacement however this took nearly 2 months and a lot of correspondence. When the replacement was arranged, no update was provided by Breville and as no one was home it was sent back to the delivery point with 7 days to arrange a time at home to sign for collection. Again this was difficult to arrange working full time. The replacement works brilliantly, the living area is noticeably fresher. The air purifier is in the living area and is quiet, we forget is there. Of a nighttime however the light is quite luminous which would make it impractical in the kids room. I believe it has improved my sons symptoms.

I was extremely and pleasantly shocked to see how quickly and effectively this improves the air quality in your home. We are a house hold of athsmatics and ex smokers with allergy problems. Coughing at night is just a normal sound in our house. The kids have always gotten blocke noses and coughs si bad they've thrown up. But since the first day I plug in the airpurifier I have not heard a single night time cough in weeks

Great for smaller rooms but can definitely be a little bit noisy on higher fan speeds. A little confusing with the display settings on the app but it's still quite good. Definitely changed the air quality has been a lot better

Has been used in a 22m2 granny flat of a smoker. Works brilliantly, has well and truly improved the quality of air.

My daughter has Asthma, therefore she is very sensitive to dust. We put Breville smart compact air purifier in her bedroom. I love that it's not noisy and I can control it through the app on my phone. It can even tell you how clean or polluted the air in the room.

I have been using the Smart Air Viral Protect for a few weeks now and the difference it makes is very noticeable. I started with it in my room as this is where the whole family ends up through the night, and I noticed from the first night that the air felt fresher and the room smelt cleaner too (no more stale sleep smell that all rooms get in the morning). Myself and my son sneeze quite a lot however this has been reduced dramatically. Since it was doing so well in the bedroom, I decided to try it out in the lounge room and same deal. The air quality is great and it helps so much with smell and sneezing too. The app is really straight forward and easy to use, and the unit itself is nice and compact, and being white it doesn’t look out of place either. The LED light on top is a nice touch too for quickly checking how the air quality is. The unit is so quiet you don’t even notice it is on, even when the fan is on high. I will be purchasing another one. Definitely worth the money!

The Smart Air Viral Protect Compact Purifier is a very great purifier that can fit comfortably in any room. It is silent, compact and can be very easily controlled through your phone to different settings. The difficulty is knowing how effective it is which is impossible to tell but I'm hopeful it is!

The Breville 'Smart Air Viral Protect Compact' did indeed work as intended. The unit looks good, and it was pretty easy to setup. The only concern with setup I had was with the blue tooth connection. This unit uses a 2.4G connection for small devices, but in my household all our devices are setup through a 5G connection, leaving me unable to get this little machine to connect and work from the phone. Thus using Breville home connect App and the Google smart home App were Impossible. But eventually I solved the problem and connection was very easy, and the apps were a breeze to use. Overall, I thought this machine, over the duration of the 7 Days worked very well, using its Micron Particle Monitor it identified the air, good or bad and purified as needed. I thought the quality of the air in my office was better, it definitely helped getting the dust particles out of the room quicker. Great little device will be getting another for my little one's room.

This air purifier is user-friendly, simple to use and gets the job done. I've found that it has decreased my dust allergies and skin itches/rashes. It can be operated by manually touching the buttons as well as via Breville's app- both ways are super easy. The app can control all functions and initial connection of the purifier to my phone was quick. 4 fan speeds is generous and I was very surprised that the lowest speed setting (same as night mode speed) makes barely a sound. The coloured ring and digital screen showing air quality turns off during night mode which is a plus. UV light to kill bacteria or viruses on trapped by the filter is wonderful too- the light can't be seen from outside the device so it's not a safety hazard to kids playing in the room. Timer function is very useful and opening device to take filter out is very easy.

I replaced my Sensibo air with this Breville Smart Air Viral Protect Compact Purifier. It is slightly smaller and the filter is half the size but the display panel is more descriptive and give an instant numerical view of the air quality in the room. The display is bright and will light up a dark room, even when in sleep mode the white dot is enough to make an uncomfortable glow in a pitch black bedroom at night. Function wise, the purifier appears robust and functions well. I feel like the app needs a bit more refinement with all functions for the purifier to be contained in the device section rather than having a seperate unrelated tab called scenes for scheduling modes like sleep mode to activate at night time to disable most of the lights on the display. The app does provide a graph for air quality over time which is useful. Overall a good device with huge potential but needs a bit of refinement of the control panel and the app controls.

Perfect product. Absolutely love mine. Really helps with the air in my little unit. I have one in the shop I work at and we have it on all the time. Perfect product would highly recommend to anyone.
