I think the Gillette Skinguard sensitive is a good razor, giving an effective & close shave. However, I don't think it fulfils all the purposes it sets out to achieve. The lubrication all around the blades seems to be effective, but I'm not sure the skinguard really works, as I still had a couple of small cuts as I shaved. I shave my face & head regularly with a Gillette blade. I didn't really think that this razor was any more effective than the standard Gillette I already use. I think the power handle is a bit of a gimmick. For me the shave was not as close or effective when I switched on the power handle & shaved with it.
I dont think the reduction from 5 blades in the fusion down to 2 blades in the skinguard have really done anything as far as sensitive skin is concerned. I think the handle feels cheap compared to other brands i have used. Overall it is an ok shave but not as good as i was expecting and not really a replacement for fusion which is a closer shave.

The buzzing shaver that couldn't.
Great I thought, as I had used the basic Fusion years ago, and a new improved model for the occasional rash summer months was good news.
It looks impressive, comfortable to hold, on/off button was easily identified & operated plus a trimmer edge.
Day 1 as with any new blade, it was a pleasure: smooth + vibrations + trimmed the side burn hair line, but......
That was the end of any good news. Lacking depth - poorly exposed blades comparatively speaking & hence the day 2 shave was like using a wooden ruler. I then tried the built in trimmer on my mustache, it was next to useless.
It simply does not have the blades in form or function to be useful or of value. I used my Mach 3...with 5 day old blades, shaved so much closer after day 2 with Fusion failure. I continued to day 5, with the only satisfaction was my Mach 3.
One good point - maybe - with vibrate on, it did clean easier, although as it never shaved fully in the first instance, this is a tongue in cheek piece of goodness.
As someone with thick coarse facial hair and sensitive skin i find shaving can be an unpleasant and laborious experience, but with the Gillette SkinGuard Sensitive Power Razor I found it to be a pleasure and the trimmer feature was a neat added bonus.

A pleasant surprise!
At first I was a bit skeptical about the "bridge" and the pulsing sensation, but I found both were really effective in giving me a consistently close shave without aggrevating my generally sensitive skin. I used the razor for five straight days and didn't notice any decline in function or effectiveness. Until now I have mostly used Gillette's Sensor Exel, but I am convinced enough to make the change to the new SkinGuard Sensitive Power Razor.
I purposely didn't shave in the lead up to the trial. I am very impressed that this razor did what it says it does, and does not tug or pull hair. It also provided a very close and comfortable shaving experience. I would definitely recommend this product.

No shaving rash
The first razor to actually not break open my skin. Very satisfied.
After using it several times, I found it still provided a good clean shave without any "tugging". It left no rashes or irritations. I tend to buy a razor that provides the quality over a longer period, so I will wait to see how it performs over the next week.
Although not as close a shave as with other shavers the smoothness of the shaver is, I think, second to none. From the first stroke you notice the significant difference to other shavers to the point that when I first used it I had to check to see if it had actually shaved me. It feels so smooth and light on the skin. For someone who has sensitive skin this is a shaver for you.
The Gillette SkinGuard Sensitive Power Razor is able to easily provide a close shave without pulling at the skin or leaving razor burn. The razor easily glides across my coarse facial hair with its powered function, and even after several shaves is still able to provide a good shave.
I do have fairly sensitive skin and the razor was able to provide a comfortable shave. After using it for a week the blade did need to go over the same areas a few times, however was still not pulling at the skin or cutting, which is far better than most razors I try.
