Make sure to prep your skin prior

I mix up my foundations and looks often - sometimes I want to glow and other times I go for matte. For both looks I’ve found they work best with good skin prep - for matte, I think it’s even more important though to make sure this isn’t applied to a bare face. My skin gets thirsty, so I’ve found this matte foundation sits best with a comparable moisturiser and pore blurring primer underneath it. I also apply it with a damp sponge so it doesn’t sit too heavy and feels light when building coverage.

Cakey

This is definitely full coverage and mattifying, but the formula feels very old-fashioned, looks cakey and dry and it was not comfortable to wear and emphasises my pores and really sticks to any dry patches, while flaking off anywhere else with the slightest touch.

Rimmel Lasting Matte Foundation

Rimmel Lasting Matte Foundation is alright. The foundation provides decent coverage and a matte finish, which is suitable for those with oily skin. It blends well and feels lightweight on the skin. However, I found that it didn't stay matte throughout the day as promised. I noticed some shine and oil breakthrough after a few hours of wear. The lasting power was average, and I needed to touch up throughout the day. The shade range is limited, which may be a drawback for some. While it didn't cause any breakouts or irritate my skin, I didn't find it to be a standout foundation. It's suitable for daily use, but I may explore other matte foundations for better oil control.

Wouldn’t recommend

Emphasised the texture on my skin and clung to dry patches. It oxidised over 30 mins after application to be a totally different colour to what it appeared to be when applied (very orange).

Great coverage for oily skin

I managed to find the perfect shade for my tone application is easy on my oily skin. Excellent cover for the price. Does not feel heavy. Taps on well and blends beautifully. I see that some people find it cakey but for my skin it's fantastic.

Great coverage

I wear this to work & this product has great coverage. It glides on my skin & I use the powder to to it off. A great light product for every day wear

Drying and colour off.

I found this foundation to be very drying and it made my make-up look like it was cracking after a few hours of wear. I also found it make my skin look orange. Didn't feel nice on my face either. It felt thick and heavy and I do not use much at all.

Very flakey and dry

I found this foundation to be very flakey and dry after 1 hour of wear. It did not hide any of my blemishes without layering the foundation to a very thick consistency, looking very un natural.

dry and crusty

when I was using this product, it left my skin dry, flaky, and crusty. This product really is thick and is not great for me personally, if you like the matte look, then go for this, but I definitely did not like this product.

Try it, you will never say no this tonal
