Tracy, I fully agree, I had a pack returned to Pampers, also a waist of time if you expect them to get back to you. The quality of the product really dropped, My 22month old boy ended up with a WET bed every night. I have now changed to Cudlers and I can honestly say we hardly have any problem or complaints any more. Good luck

For one of the most expensive brands, you would think they would be made stronger and not have this problem. What a waste of money :(

I used Rama Light for many years and now recently they have rebranded all their marg types. There is no longer a light, but I don't know which one is the same as the light. So unfortunately I have had to swop to a brand that still makes a light marg. Would be great if Rama could advertise which is which - compare old to new. As I think this potentially happened to alot of their customers.

I tried adding this to New Product Watch, but your site is on the fritz. Coffee 2 Go is great when you're on the road, camping or hiking. It literally heats itself in 3 minutes so it's warm when you need it to be. One drawback is the added sugar. Available in black coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate & chicken soup. Worth a try! Tried the Jungle oats with cinnamon as I have always added cinnamon to my jungle oats. Most disappointed that cinnamon was so over powering I could not finish the bowl. Have to use the product by making biscuits (recipe on pack) which I did enjoy.

Moosa, I feel exactly the same than you. I spend so much time at the shop comparing the different brands with each other. I closely look at the per kilo or per litre comparison and mostly do my shopping according to the best price. I will only buy a more expensive product, if I believe strongly believe in it and have tested the cheaper versions. I have cut down or cut out a lot of products, like tuna, as the prices are just unacceptable.

Hi.
If you keep getting shown an error message (or some funny text that makes no sense) after you try click the "back" button, go back through the answer you provided, and make sure you haven't used any funny characters or symbols. While I was filling out a survey earlier today, I kept getting this problem. Eventually, once I had removed all apostrophes, brackets and other symbols, I managed to complete the survey.

So true Moosa but what can be done about it? I have started cutting out products if the price is too high. If everyone did this then we could force the supermarkets etc to bring down the prices. I will not pay R12 - R14 for an English Cucumber! When the price comes down then I will buy it again. Look at the price of coffee - it's crazy. The trouble is the younger people are earning crazy salaries these days and don't need to worry about prices. This puts the poor and pensioners in a very bad position! What do they do?

Last night i opened a John West Shredded Tuna in sunflower oil only to find it two thirds full of meat. I weighed the fish which came to 120g and it was supposed to be 170g not including the tin.
I have contacted the customer care centre and they confirmed that they will followup. If you find that problem, please do call them. They are keen to know if there is a problem.

I recently purchased the Woollies fresh uncooked Free range whole chicken and am finding blood in the thigh bone meat which is concerning as this indicates that the chicken was injured during the process prior to slaughter. Not only is this disturbing but also taints the chicken meat.

Anyone else with that experience? Or opiniion?

Suzanne, I've just realized..EC in the UK means Essex and is east of London..here in SA EC stands for Eastern Cape and we have a town called East London. How bizarre!! But no...you won't be able to test the products and they wont be the same as in the UK..it's a shame though, isn't.

Has anyone tried the Airwick scent sticks (not sure of the exact name) - it is a bottle of scented oil, with bamboo sticks that soak up the oil and fill the room with the scent. I love the scent, however, because of the shape of the bottle, it falls over very easily, and the oil has now removed the varnish and stain from my bathroom counter! Please pass this on to the manufacturer, they need to change the bottle shape so that it does not fall over, or change the oil so that is doesn't eat through varnish o-O

Hello, I have a really dumb question. I really like the Kair Silicone strengthening Serum but for the life of me cannot work out how to work the dispensing mechanism. Right now I am unscrewing the weird mechanism offthe top and sticking my finger into the bottle to get some out. Does anyone know how to dispense it - there doesnt seem to be any clear instructions on the packaging label!

That's not good- if the lids are not sealed properly on a dairy product- you probably shouldn't eat it. You can never be too careful when it comes to meat & dairy. I'd say chuck it out, and change brands. You know, I've noticed- Pick 'n Pay own brand products are not always cheaper. In fact, in most cases they are far more expensive.

I was one of the lucky ones to receive a goodie box. I was very excited. However, it only arrived on 27 May. I have missed the deadline for the surveys. After completing the kellogs survey I wonder that no-one has passed the fact on to Kellogs that Doctors are advising people to eat iron enriched food with caution. Due to the fact that excess iron has been linked to heart disease. Most people in South Africa get dietary iron, and iron from multi-vitamin and mineral supplements, eating more iron in your cereal could be harmful... everyone in my extended family has stopped eating iron fortified cereal for this reason. This is important information and Kellogs should be made aware of it.

Pick 'n Pay used to have a cooking school - I'm not sure if they still do though. Neill Anthony has a sort of cooking school where he teaches you basics and uses local food stuffs - he even takes you shopping to the market to educate you on seasonal food. It's a great experience overall. Google him.

Hi... I also had the same problem until I studied the tampon more closely. It is now a twist open method. Hold the tampon at the top and bottom and twist in opposite directions. It actually opens quite easy now. Hope this helps.

The old wrapping was so easy to take off, now you need a pair of scissors to get it out!

You do not get an email anymore- for quite a while now..... you have to come and check on the site and register when the register button appears. Hope this helps.

I have been becoming quite annoyed at the fact that products in many stores no longer have "readable" prices on them. My concern being; I can not read a barcode and thus do not truly know what I am paying for the product once it has been rung up, since one does not always remember the price stated on the shelf. What happened to prices on products?

I have found on many occasions when purchasing a single item (not a whole months groceries; since then you will not notice) that there is often a difference in price when rung up at the till compared to what the shelf price indicated; only the product is not separately priced, which means that one has to return to the shelf and prove the price stated.

Are retail shops abusing or in a sense relying on the idea that clients; due to some factors such as the following; time, effort to query the error or courtesy to the other customers waiting to be served? Are retail shops doing this on purpose (added profit) or is it simply incompetence?

Should there not be a law on itemised, 'readable' pricing?

The next time you buy groceries, take some time to write the price of each item down and then compare with your receipt (till slip); you'd be surprised...

I am so frustrated, it's the only milk my family can drink as we all suffer from lactose intolorance and the "Easygest" is the best by far. Service in Retail Stores is disgusting!!! I am appalled at the way I am treated in most retail stores. Are the staff made aware that I am in fact the customer and that I am to at least - at LEAST! be greated with a smile and some courtesy! Surely some form of acknowledgement that I am a customer should be implemented! Are the staff trained in customer service? Do they know that hand signals are rude and that no eye contact when communicating is also disrespectful. I am well aware that certain cultures have different forms of respect, but surely all staff should be trained as to how customers should be dealt with??
I think that we have stopped complaining and just accept the current situation. Let's stand together and get the service levels back up to where they should be. If Customer Service is an issue for you! Make a difference and let the store know that you are unhappy!

Did you ever get an answer to this question, Gill, as I too have been looking for a deodorant roll-on that isnt an anti-perspirant. I used all the products in 2 days and gave my "first impression" answers in the surveys, if

I agree, they should make the 100g slabs. I took the small slab to bed the other night as a snack while reading and before I knew it, it was finished, what a disappointment! But on the other side of this coin my figure might not be the same again, ever, @ 100g slabs. The other thing I'd like to mention, the Aero Cappucino slab is heavenly but very difficult to break into blocks, as it really disintegrates into small pieces no matter how careful you are. I had to cut the individual blocks with a knife, they should look at that.

As this is a consumer website I was wondering if you could contact any of your branding houses to import or make "ironing water". The most popular international make is Comfort Vaporesse and is found through-out the world under various brands. Ironing Water is fragranced water that you pour directly into your iron and is harmless to your iron but makes the clothes smell wonderful and fresh.
There is a UK import shop that I buy mine from but it is rather expensive and would like a local alternative.

I work for the advertising agency that does Milo Cereal's advertising. Apparently the product was such a hit, that they ran out of stock. It is an extremely popular product. I had the same problem.

DAWN moisturising lotion - I received some in this month's kit - (my first kit) - what a lovely product!
Feels great and has the most delicate fragrance. I expected it to be a sickly sweet smell, being 'musk', but was very pleasantly surprised!! No sticky residue either - what a bonus! :)

I saw the F&M Lasagne sheets at P&P (The Crescent Dbn North) yesterday and also Tagliatelle (imported range) which someone else mentioned.
Ask the manager at you favourite store if there is a supplier problem or if it is an 'in house' decision not to stock them anymore, for whatever reason....

Could any manufacturer of deodorants please explain why all roll on deodorants are now anti perspirants? I do not especially like using the spray deodorant but have no choice but to do so. am I the only one who perfers roll on non-anti perspirants

MALVA PUDDING
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease an ovenproof dish ±7"x 9" (24 x 18 cm).

1 cup (250 ml) sugar; 1 cup (250 ml) flour; 1 cup (250 ml) evaporated milk; 1 large egg; 1 tbsp (15 ml) butter or margarine; 2 tbsp (30 ml) vinegar; 2 teasp. vanilla essence; ¼ cup (60 ml) smooth apricot jam; 1 teasp. bicarbonate of soda; pinch salt.

Beat sugar, egg, butter/marg and jam till light and fluffy.
Sift flour, bicarb and salt together.
Mix vinegar, evaporated milk and vanilla together.
Fold flour mixture into egg mixture, alternating with liquid. Mix well.
Pour into ovenproof dish and bake ±45 minutes.

CARAMEL SAUCE: optional

Melt ± 2 tablespoons butter or marg and 1 - 1½ cups sugar in pot over fairly high heat. Stir continuously. When it starts turning brown, turn down the heat and continue stirring until medium or caramel brown in colour. Don't overdo, otherwise it will have a burned taste. Slowly add a cup of milk - be very careful, as it will splatter, and once the splattering stops and caramel turns hard, add another 2 - 2½ cups milk. Carefully loosen the caramel from sides of pot with a wooden spoon and stir until all the caramel has melted. Turn heat down to low.
Mix one rounded dessertspoon of maizena/cornflour with a little milk into a smooth runny paste and slowly add that to the sauce, stirring until it thickens.

My 14 year old son was always hungry after eating the ordinary white Albany as he is not one for brown bread! Now thanks to the all new low GI white bread which sustains his hunger for longer periods and I personally think he has even lost some weight from not binging the whole time!

I bought a pack of Spekko Thai Jasmine 1kg rice last Sunday. When I got home to wash it, I had these brown bugs running around inside the rice. They were crawling all over the rice inside the packet, had crawled out of the packet and onto my counter. I sent an email, with picture, to Pioneer Foods, and they haven't even bothered to reply to my email. Im horrified and will never again buy a Spekko product.

Thats very interesting actually. Because I called the helpline and they said there was no problem but they would "investigate" and it "was their policy not to call customers back" wow! How much more rude can you get. I want to buy yur product, informing you I cannot find it and asking if there is a problem but its not their policy to call you back. I think I go with the imports even though they are a little more expensive. As for the testers cant help you there - I too am new.

If you want a good malva pudding recipe trying ina paarmans recipe. Should be available on her website www.inapaarman.co.za or email them and will send it to you. Isnt it irritating when they leave an ingredient out of a recipe

I downloaded a Malva Pudding Redcipe from the Hulletts sugar website. I'm convinced they left something out, like milk or water, as I'm meant to 'pour' the mixture into a dish, but without any form of liquid, it was more like cookie dough. I just winged it and threw in some milk, then it came out ok. So maybe someone should let them know?
