A month before my 41'st birthday I realised that I had not learnt anything new. I just picked up a book, and started quilting. I found it relaxes me immensely and I am much clamer in my day to day activities. I attended a workshop on it after my 3'rd quilt but found I could not learn anything new. I'd already developed my own style & design. Only thing I did learn that you HAVE to stitch through all 3 layers for it to qualify as a quilt. So I'm adding that as another challenge.

I cross stitch, draw, bake, an online group, organise monthly picnics, volenture with animal and children's charities, I have a religious organisation that I help to keep going and we do a bunch of crafts and writings and I Role Play. That is where you pretend to be another person and a story teller tells you what happens and you say how your character responds, Like improve acting.

I love to paint, beading and s$%@#booking, but unfortunately I don't have the time anymore to do any of them. Work during the day and keeping kids entertained during night and by the time they sleep, I've fallen asleep with them.

I have recently returned to my hobbies after many years. I find it soothing & relaxing being creative again. It is also very satisfying producing something with your hands. the only 'down' side of any hobby is the expense of starting as most of the products are imported Vivienne

I also find my hobbies very therapeutic, I work with students (bless their souls........... and my patience and endurance!) I find getting stuck into one of my (many) hobbies takes the stress away, keeps me productive and saves me money, a homemade present always says so much more!

Anything I need these days I look up on the Internet, including "how someone feels after chemotherapy" There are one million and one ideas to try if one is creative! I've found amazing things to do on the Net - just with there was much more time available!!!

100 % agree. I would love to take up cake dcorating but I am cluless about who offers this and where I can undertake this. Anybody in the Druban area that can offer some guideance.
