Tefal SV7130 Steam Generator Iron

This iron was slightly disappointing as when it arrived it was rather damaged and I had to wait for a replacement. This one was better however I wasnt happy to find you keep having to press the steam button as I thought it would have done it itself. However it did iron my clothes nicely and was quick.

I was initially impressed with the appearance of this iron, it looks expensive it holds a good amount of water, which means you don't have to keep filling it up. The instructions could be a little clearer but I still managed to work it. It glides beautifully over clothes and I am sure it reduced the time I spent ironing. The steam that is generated is fantastic and you can boost the amount of steam The cord is quite short which made it more difficult when ironing as the steam generator didn't balance well at the end of my ironing board so I had to place it on a worktop so the cord didn't stretch as far when ironing. I also found the when I had really stubborn creases (like when you iron a shirt and you turn it over and have created a big crease) it didn't get the whole crease out so I had to use a water spray and then it worked well. Overall, a really good iron

Very good product. Very nice steam generator and it provides a great steam cloud. It works great and it makes ironing so much easier! And it looks great! Very happy costumer.

Me and the wife both used the iron with mixed results. Being a Military man, I am used to ironing my uniform to a high standard with sharp creases throughout and the iron definitely makes it easier to put them in. The wife however, who does ironing for a few people a week, struggled to get to grips with it. Having the tank and unit on the ironing board meant it occasionally got in the way when ironing larger garments. We are using a large brabantia board as well for clarity. She also didn't enjoy the motion of pumping up the steam to get the desired results. I think she just needs more time getting to grips with it. Considering this item would generally go for around £200, I would always choose a 'normal' steam iron for £20-£30, as I've most definitely not spent a total of £200 on irons in the last 20 years and have not struggled with my uniforms so far.

The iron unit itself is neat and compact and the water compartment holds more than enough water to complete a couple of loads of ironing. The steam button on the handle is great for controlling the amount of steam you need for each item so there’s no need to keep stopping to adjust settings. I steamed my delicate items upright while still hanging on the clothes hanger and this worked extremely well. I live in a hard water area so I like the idea of the anti-calc collector and the de-scaling setting although I haven’t used this enough times yet to test. The only reason I didn’t give this iron 5 stars is because you’re not able to control the temperature of the iron if you don’t want to use the steam. Otherwise this is a brilliant product.

This iron was a big step up for me from the regular iron I had been using for many years that finally just didn't produce much steam any longer. This iron has everything that I was looking for all in one iron -- a lighter iron, but with a separate water container to lighten up the iron itself along with an even distribution of steam via the many steam holes and a narrower ironing tip that allows getting into smaller areas and more precision.  The one feature I really like is the lock to hold the iron in place so the unit can be easily carried from place to place. I love this product!

When my Tefal SV7130 steam generator iron arrived I thought it was going to be really big and bulky to use, however I set it up in a matter of minutes stood it on the end of my ironing board, filled it up with water and away I went. It was so easy to ironing my huge pile of ironing, I actually think it took less than half the time it normally takes me with my old iron. It was great not to have to keep changing the temperature and I never had to refill the water, also I love the button you press for one shot of steam or a constant flow of steam. I really am so impressed with this Tefal Iron. Thank you so much letting me test and share my thoughts on this fantastic steam generating iron.

Have found this steam generator absolutely great. Especially on tumble dried items which are especially a challenge. Also that this steamer is compact to is good because it takes up so little space it is easy and simple to use great product .

This iron is awful, the steam it produces is not practical and you are unable to adjust the steam power, the heat of the iron is very low and again the user is unable to adjust the settings as there is'nt any.

Lovely to use. The water tank is a good size so it doesn’t need filling up all the time. Then length of the cord is a good size.

Wow what a product. As a family of 5 I spend half my week ironing and this has been a godsend. The extra long cord, versatile movement and easy glide make this a pleasure to iron with. No more creases this removes them straight away. It halfs your ironing time leaving more time for the things you want to do. My friend pays a company to iron her clothes and even she is considering buying this product and doing it herself. If your looking for a new iron to save time and do an amazing job well this is your iron. Buy it!!!

I have used this steam generator and absolutely loved it. Only thing is that’s a bit heavy but it’s so easy to use and works amazing

Fantastic piece of kit. Heats up fast with a good amount of steam almost instantly. Compact design and fits well on ironing board. Ironed school shirts and work uniforms effortlessly. My only criticism is the flex from the base to the plug socket could be a bit longer. But otherwise would definitely recommend to anyone

Absolutely brilliant ironing is a pleasure not a chore. So use to use. The iron itself lightweight and easy to handle.
