Campbells Country Ladle Butternut Pumpkin Soup

At first glance, the soup looked appealing and had a nice consistency.  Unfortunately the taste was pretty average.  It did have quite a processed flavour compared to other canned pumpkin soup varieties.

this soup was slightly more delicious than the watties soup, but again it was not my favourite overall.

it was edible, but we struggled to finihs the can across 2 people.

the taste was a bit bland, it had a weird aftertaste 
the consistency was nicer than watties (as it was less thick)

you could probably spruce it up with a few home ingredient additions such as bacon, some spices etc

I was asked to sample and review this soup. This came at a great time as it is currently winter and I have been making my own pumpkin soup. I haven't had canned soup before, so I was excited to try it. If I am completely honest, I wasn't overly impressed. When compared to a home made soup, it just doesn't compete. For people who are used to more processed style meals, I think this would probable be a good option. But for me, I will be sticking to my home made soup.

After reading the cooking instructions (which were easy to follow) on the tin I placed the soup into a pot to cook it on the stove. I was careful to make sure I followed the instructions, frequently stirring and not boiling to ensure I did not burn the soup.  
I poured the soup into the bowl and began to eat it. I found the texture of the soup somewhat grainy, a little thick, slightly bitter and generally unpleasant. I struggled to finish the serving. The positives of the soup was it was approx 2g of fat and approx 16g of carbohydrate.

Great tasting soup, could do with a little more spice/herbs but still tastes great. Slightly sweet and not too salty. Good size portion

Used to bake chocolate cake yes weird but I swear try it in cake recipes you won't regret it makes it so moist. Would I eat this stright most likely not but I do bake with it

The butternut pumpkin soup is easy to prepare, simply heat it in a pot. It has a wonderful aroma, and its taste is sweet with a nutty flavor and a hint of sourness.
