Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky

Starting with the bottle, this is one classy drink. The bottle is gorgeous decanter style and looks stunning in the bar. The whiskey has a distinctive aroma that gently wafts around as you open the bottle. The taste is unique (slightly smoky and refreshing) and unforgettable. The drink goes down very smoothly without any lingering aftertaste (which is a plus point for us). It is strong though so we used ice or a tiny splash of water. No mixers needed for this one - it stands on its own. All in all we loved it!

First time trying Japanese whiskey and it exceeded my expectations. It's smooth and flavourful, one glass just isn't enough. Only downside would be the high price, but for a mid-top range choice it is definitely worth it.

I tried Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky on a few occasions, I’m not a big whiskey drinker but I really enjoyed this, it had a nice taste not so strong as other whiskies.

I've tried this whisky neat, with ice, and with a range of mixers and I'd say it's a pleasing and extremely versatile spirit. There's a distinct spiciness to the palette but it's not overpowering which allows you to notice a distinct depth of flavour. A preicy product but I'd definitely buy again.

This is a beautiful product: Paper box and label in Echizen washi paper which is utilised in Japanese arts such as origami. This is made from “the fibres of the paper mulberry plant, soaked in clear river water and then filtered through a bamboo screen”. Impressed yet? The bottle is a heavy jewel- like multifaceted glass bottle with 24 facets as a tribute to the 24 seasons of Japan. You can see the amount of detail, culture, craftsmanship, design all carefully put together to create something very special, in my opinion. Now, the whisky: Harmony is a blend of malt and grain whiskies from the distilleries of Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. All perfectly blended to create something very balanced (harmonious) with notes of honey (predominant), apricot, black pepper, orange, floral. It’s complex and light, it’s elegant and the finish is incredibly smooth and enjoyable. You don’t need to be a seasoned whisky drinker to appreciate this. Perfect as a gift to yourself or someone special.

I really enjoyed this whiskey, I has got a nice smooth, slightly sweeter taste than most other whiskey, I goes well with lemonade but is better drank neat with ice. I would highly recommend this whiskey and like the less usual shape of the bottle.

I have always wanted to try the Japanese Whiskey which is so famous around the world. This is absolutely gorgeous. The taste of whiskey has a mixture of fruits and flowers, but yet it is not too sweet. The after taste is strong which I can still feel the vibrance. Who can say no to this journey to Japan?

Brilliant whisky, delicious and smooth, just the blend of honey, vanilla, and fruit. Very enjoyable and something different from what I have tried before. Excellent served with a couple of cubes of ice, definitely great drink after hard day at work. Such a nice whisky, first time trying, and really love it, I would definitely recommend to try.

I’m not a whisky drinker at all but this whisky isn’t like other whisky’s it’s honey flavours with hints of orange make it so much more enjoyable. It’s like a smooth butter as you sip it. I would recommend this to people who like whisky.

One of the best blended Whisky I drunk. Perfect on the rocks, smooth with the subtle hint of oak.

This was my first time trying Japanese Whiskey and I was pleasantly surprised it was full bodied with smooth undertones of rich chocolate & honey. I am in awe of the complexity the folk at Hibiki have achieved with this whiskey it smells and tastes amazing I am almost half way through the Whiskey and it’s only been a week since receiving. The bottle itself has a nice contemporary design too I will definitely be keeping once finished. I enjoyed the whiskey most just with just a drop of water on a cold night in front of a hot wood burner perfect.

This was my first time trying Japanese Whisky, after hearing many good things. This Hibiki is incredibly smooth and easy drinking and I loved the notes of Orange throughout the drink. There is also a nice, but not overpowering, spiciness to the flavour profile as well which I love. I find some Whiskys too harsh, but this is lovely to drink. The bottle itself also looks great in my alcohol cabinet!

Well were do you start with such an impeccable drink! The bottle it self is classic and stylish, the whiskey well, we have been blown away, such a smooth taste and not that harshness of some more typical whiskeys. Very easy to drink (too easy) Started with a mixer of coke and was lovely and very enjoyable, tried just on its own with just a couple of ice cubes and didn’t go back to a mixer from then. Very easy on the throat and a delicate taste not too overpowering but enough to know you are drinking some of the best. Would highly recommend perfect on its own but just as good with a mixer or nice cocktail.

Sweet. Quite strong. Had to drink with lemonade but this meant I only needed to use a small amount. I enjoyed it. I felt it was a christmassy vibe and it was extremely warming. The packaging is very classy also.

I wasn’t sure about Japanese whisky - I’ve always been a fan of Scotch single malts. I needn’t have worried, this whisky was warming and mellow but still complex with depth. Not too sweet, a touch of smoke and leather. Really delicious.
