I love this facial sunscreen because it goes on clear and gives lasting protection, while not leaving an overly greasy feel on my face. You can also easily apply makeup over it. I also really like that this doesn't have much of a fragrance, which can be overpowering on your face. I love the fact it's water resistant, which is amazing for the summer months. So, overall this is an excellent product that I will definitely keep buying!

Excellent Lightweight Sunscreen

i like this product overall. it goes on feeling greasy for one second and then it blends in very smoothly without making me look oily. it hasn’t been sunny enough to really test it, but i expect it would work well. the pump bottle is interesting, but i like it.

I was very impressed by the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Invisible Gel Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 product. The texture is a velvet type of smooth and I love that it was scent free. The application was flawless and the ingredients were a huge plus for me. No burning or peeling after wearing in the sun and I actually only had to reapply once during a day of tanning. I would recommend this product!

Velvet for days!

I’ve been using this SPF for one week and can say it’s SO smooth - perfect for under makeup on a daily basis. Neutrogena is an excellent sunscreen brand, I have most of their other SPFs which I use for different activities. There is no scent to this one, it’s non-comedogenic and provides complete sun protection while moisturizing. I really like the pump, just two to three pumps for my whole face and neck and I can be out the door quick. I’ve also put this one on my kids and they don’t wipe their faces like they usually do, haha. That’s a plus in my book.

Sheer, moisturizing, protecting

This sunscreen had a thin and clear consistency that made it easy to apply. It absorbed well and my skin felt protected when I wore it. I’m often active and I felt it held up well when I was working out. It had a clean and soft finish to it.

Fast absorbing face screen!

I like the face sunscreen. It is a clear, fragrance-free gel. It absorbs very fast and doesn't make my face greasy or shiny. I can use the sunscreen like a prime for makeup because it is invisible on my skin. The nozzle is easy to use and the cap helps to prevent leaking. I love the tube design.

Great face suncreen

I liked using this. My skin felt really good and feel this protected it well. It doesn't leave a white cast since it's a gel, but I do feel it leaves a slip on the skin.  I did try to layer it with foundation but It made my makeup peel so I don't recommend using them together.  I really like that this spreads well on the skin. The perfect amount pumps out the bottle.

Sheer and effective

I really enjoy Neutrogena skincare products and am always on the lookout for anti-aging and sun protection so I was thrilled to try their new Ultra Sheer Invisible Gel Face Sunscreen. It seems to have no scent, goes on smooth and spreads well (a little goes a long way). Also, it has a very nourishing feeling that most likely comes from its ingredient- Vitamin E. It’s clear gel absorbs well, is lightweight and doesn’t cake if used under makeup. It has SPF 40 so it still leaves room for a sunkissed color without the harmful effects. And, to top it off it’s water resistant for up to 80 minutes!

Face the sun with Neutrogena

This sunscreen is my favorite for a makeup primer and on my hands before a gel manicure. It is clear and I scented and dries to a matte finish.

Matte sunscreen makes a great primer!

This invisible sunscreen goes on easily. Doesn’t have a harsh smell. Protects your skin well from the sun. I didn’t have any reaction from using this product. 

Works well

My favorite feature of this product is how light weight it was. I used it with my moisturizer in the morning, and then used foundation afterwards.  It went on smooth and gave all day sun protection. I will continue to use!

Neutrogena SPF 40

I have sensitive, dry, acne-prone skin, so I was originally a little nervous to try this sunscreen because of its matte finish. However, I was pleasantly surprised that my dry skin still felt moisturized after using this sunscreen! The sunscreen is an odd color out of the bottle, but applies completely clear. I appreciate that it’s unscented. Once on, it felt a little heavy on my skin, but after a few minutes, dried down to a smooth finish. It does have a silicone feel, so be aware of that if you are sensitive to textures. It worked really well as a primer under my makeup and I didn’t experience any breakouts, so I consider that a win! Oily and combination skin types will probably love how this feels. Dry skin types will want to moisturize beforehand, but I think it could still work for you!

Pretty Good!

This Ultra Sheer Invisible Gel Face Sunscreen was gifted to me in exchange for my review. This sunscreen has a hell texture. It absorbs very quickly and has a matte texture after drying. It’s perfect for oily skin because it doesn’t add any extra shine. It is water resistant and contains spf 40. I was able to wear this very well under my makeup. I was very impressed with this sunscreen. I haven’t had much luck with sunscreens but this one works great and I highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a nice sunscreen for your face this is it! As someone who wears makeup, this sunscreen it sheer and non-greasy. The best way to describe it is it acts like a face primer. I use this under my makeup and it smooths out my pores and fine lines just like a primer would. I am so beyond pleased with the sunscreen… I will continue to buy this one!

My new favorite sunscreen!

I was surprised with this being in gel form how great it felt on my skin. Did not have any shine to it, made it feel like 2nd skin to me. Works just as well as it should, I definitely recommend this product.

Daily face sunscreen worth every cent

I was so excited to see Neutrogena's new Ultra Sheer Invisible Gel Face Sunscreen with SPF 40. I hate the white cast that most sunscreens give. This one blends seamlessly. Seriously, you can't tell it's there. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because I had the pump clog and the sunscreen separated. Otherwise though I felt like it really moisturized my skin. It would be great to use as a primer for makeup to declutter your routine.

I really enjoy using Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Invisible Gel Face Sunscreen on my skin. It goes on clear and smooth, leaving my skin feeling moisturized and protected. It’s great to wear under my makeup all year long, and helps slow down the aging process on my skin.  The product is fragrance free, water resistant for up to 80 minutes, and provides vitamin E. I will be recommending this SPF 40 skin cancer protector to all my friends and family. 

Awesome Face Sunscreen!

The first pump had a strong odor, perhaps from the castor oil? I hesitated applying it, as the scent smelled manufactured, like plastic or warm rubber. The plus is It's highly compatible with a complexion, being translucent and matte, which is great under cosmetics! Usually sunscreen makes your face too oily. Spf is only 40. 50+ is recommended outdoors. I could see why after testing it for 20-40 minute intervals at different times, each day (8am, 11am, 2pm, 4:30pm) with a 1 day gap in-between days. Everytime, my face got a mild sunburn (light rosy pink). I don't burn easily. I usually only experience a mild burn when in direct sunlight during peak hours (2-3 hours) if spf is under 50. I applied the amount in the photo the first time. After that, I used half the amt, as it felt like enough (using too much castor oil isn't recommended). Adding a dose size (eg dime, quarter) would help as the container is slim, giving the impression it was in concentrate & would go farther.

Truly matte, but spf isn't high enough

O really love this face sunscreen. It absorbs so fast, it’s clear,very easu to apply at first it looks a little shiny and in a minute it clears and  you cant feel it or see it,  dont give any heavy feeling other sunscreens does, also it is fragance free witch I love. It is water resistant. I am going to buy it again and again. From now on is my favorite face sunscreen. Thank you for opportunity to find my favorite sunscreen!!

This is basically the only face sunscreen i can use on my face that will not break me out. If you have sensitive acne prone skin like me this may work for you too

Great for all skin tones as this formula goes on and dries clear!!! The pump tube gives it a premium feel as many high end makeup brands use similar packaging. Great product and will recommend to all my friends!

This product is very nice! I love the way the gel feels on my face and that it is gel instead of lotion I feel like it stays on longer 

Love it!

I wanted to love this, but unlike some some others, I DID feel some excess stickiness after the application. I also had a really hard time getting my makeup to apply properly with this on. I ended up having to wipe the sunscreen product off, in order to even apply my makeup properly. 

Great for SPF, not great with makeup 

This is the best sunscreen I have ever used.  It isn't too thick.  Broad Spectrum SPF 40 applies easily and is waterproof.  Great coverage and protection for the day.

Not heavy

Loved the feel was perfect fit for my skin type!! Lightweight on the skin was a bit greasy but overall was excellent product already purchased

Good protection, but is a bit greasy feeling.  It doesn’t have much of a smell  it seems to be more.  The size is easy to drop in purse

I love the light grease less gel it leaves no film on my skin. Translation, it won't break me out, unlike other thick lotions tend to do.

My skin loves this sunscreen. I wear it under makeup and it doesn't leave any residue. It's excellent value for money and doesn't leave a white cast. It's easy to reapply and has a smooth texture, like Neutrogena products in general. This sunscreen is easy to apply and doesn't cause breakouts. It also offers great protection even in direct summer sun without feeling greasy. Its scent is very mild, unlike some others.
