Stitchers Friend & More
I cross stitch. As any stitcher will tell you, there is a ritual of steps you go through before you start any project. One of the most important steps is to secure your edges. The edges of Aida cloth will fray while you are working if you don't find a way to tamp them down, and most stitchers use masking tape to accomplish this. And as someone who has been stitching for 36-odd years now, I can tell you through trial and error that using cheap masking tape for this step will cause you heartache in the end. It can be hard to deal with, fold over onto itself, and worst of all, it can be difficult to remove at the end of your project and cause even more fraying than if you hadn't used it! I choose Scotch brand for this task every single time. It lays cleanly, released easily, and stays put for the whole project. Needless to say it's also useful for a million other tasks around the house, but I will always choose it first for crafting!
Absolutely the best
This is the absolute OG of masking tapes. This is the gold standard for other tapes to try to live up to. Crisp lines, great adhesive, no leftover residue. Love it! Would recommend.

Never As Good As Gorilla Tape!
This masking tape didn’t meet my expectations. The adhesive is weak and doesn’t stick well to some surfaces, and it peels off easily. It tears unevenly, making it frustrating to use for precise tasks. It’s usable in a pinch, but overall it feels flimsy and unreliable compared to other brands. Not worth the price if you need a tape that actually holds
Not Bad
It's not a bad product if you are painting. It doesn't stick very well. I liked it cause it never messed up the wall. No not really it's a good product. Yes I would recommend this product.
Great value, dependable performance
I keep a roll of this masking tape in my tool drawer, and it’s honestly one of those underrated handy items you reach for more often than you expect. The adhesive is solid and reliable—whether I’m labeling boxes, patching up a tear, bundling cords, or doing a quick craft fix, it sticks well without being a hassle. The tan paper surface tears easily by hand, which is always a plus when you’re mid-project and don’t want to fetch scissors. One of the best parts? The removal is pretty clean if you don’t leave it stuck on forever—I’ve used it on non-delicate surfaces like painted walls or wood trim, and when I pulled it off after a few days, there wasn’t a sticky mess. That said, for very fragile surfaces (like raw drywall or wallpaper) I’d still be cautious—tape is tape, not magic.
No question the best.
I use this tape for literally everything and anything when I need tape. It works for crafting and more important tasks like painting the kitchen. Never without this in the house and garage.
Always have it
Old school is the best school I say. This has been around forever. Always have it out when it’s time to decorate for a party. Has just the right amount of sticky. However, be careful what surface you put it on. It did take some of the surface off of my entertainment center. Stick with walls and things like that. It will get the job done.
Great to stick anywhere!
So useful for around the house! Comes in handy for a variety of projects small or large. From holding bags closed, to straight edges for painting this has you covered.
Masking tape
Scott masking tape is good holds up pretty well when tapping ripped cardboard boxes closed , as well as torn sides . At times i wish it was a little wider .
