Good flavours which can be added to
I found this gumbo quite tasty. It had good flavours and chunks of vegetables. To pad it out for two people, after tasting I added more chilli, kransky sausage and spring onions. Also dipped in some crusty bread. Nice hearty meal with very little preparation. For one person I could have had the whole can without anything added.

Yummo tasty gumbo
I thoroughly enjoyed this soup, I didn't really think it had the tastes or spices of a Louisiana gumbo but it was really tasty and fully of veggies and had a great flavour. I would recommend this a tasty lunch or small dinner

Louisiana-Style Gumbo
I have recently had the chance to try F. Whitlock & Sons Louisiana-Style Gumbo. It comes in a generous portion, either two small servings or one large serving. Having never tried gumbo before, I was delighted it tasted like a spicy minestrone soup. The texture was pleasant and so were the vegetables. It would be a great staple in the pantry for a quick lunch or dinner

Not for me.
First of all, the ingredients list put me right off. Natural flavour, thickeners, yeast extract are all a big no no. The flavour wasn’t too bad, I was expecting my mouth to be on fire after reading the description but the flavour was very tame. I’m unsure if this product is suppose to be a soup or if it’s a baked bean substitute.

Yum Yum Yum
Absolutely loved my first try of the gumbo. For anyone who hasn’t tried gumbo this one is very similar to a tomato based stew. It was the perfect lunch while working at home. Tasty, full of flavour, a mild spice to it without being overly spicy and surprisingly light yet filling. Definitely something I would have again.

Nice and bitey
This product is full of bite. It creeps up and is just how I like it. It’s quite a thick soup, more akin to a stew, but I like that. It has a good amount of veges and is rich enough to be satisfying.

Tastes like homemade!
I was a bit apprehensive about trying this because canned soups can be hit and miss but honestly it tasted like a homemade soup that would have taken me an hour to make instead of a soup that took me 5 minutes to heat up. I added some grated cheese on top and it added to the delicious smokey flavour.

Not to my taste
I could tell upon opening the tin that this was a good quality gumboots with clearly visible vegetables and ingredients. It was a bit spicy for me & not to my taste but clearly quality

Tasty and full of veg
Was a very tasty soup. Good amount of vegetables and a nice hit of spice to it that isn’t overwhelming. A good consistency. Also smells quite yum. Would recommend this soup

Toddler and husband approved
The gumbo was great value for money. The can was $4 at Woolworths and there was a lot of good hearty food. For myself I found it to be too spicy but both my husband and toddler loved it.

Something different
This gumbo was perfect for tonight’s cooler weather. A lovely comforting blend of tomato, capsicum, corn & okra, finished with a bit of heat from the mix of paprika & jalapeños.
