Mecca Cosmetica Restoring Retinol Serum

This was a good, entry level retinol product. I found it to be gentle and did not cause any irritation. I followed the instructions as per the bottle, however found that I had to use additional pumps of the product to get the required coverage. The cream absorbed well and had a good consistency. The scent was “different” (not a scent I can easily describe). It was nice enough and not offensive. My skin felt good while using it, however I can’t say I saw much improvement in fine lines.

The packaging of the product is nice, it looks so elegant. I used it for less than a week because everytime I apply it, my skin feels painful or sore. It might be because my skin is a bit dry, hence, it does not suits me. However, this might suitable for normal skin condition

I absolutely love this product. It has really improved the appearance of my skin! My skin tone is more even and overall more hydrated and plump! Will be adding this product permanently to my skin care routine.

This retinol was gentle on skin, smelt nice, and went on smoothly. Skin felt nice and smooth in the morning. A good retinol for beginners or those with sensitive skin.

I have been putting it on my face for a month now. Started 2 times a week and build it up to every night now. I see improvement on my skin, it became plum, hydrated, smoother. I would definitely buy this when I run out.

I liked the handy packing. I tried this product for three weeks, starting with twice a week to gradually increasing it 4-5 times a week. It's lightweight and absorbs well in the skin and is fragrance-free. Neither too sticky nor very dry. Used it with moisturizer at night and sunscreen and moisturizer in the morning. In the first two weeks, didn't notice any visible difference. But continued the usage, now I can notice some pores are minimized and wrinkles are fading, Skin tone and texture is also improving. 30ml bottle would last for months.

I was really impressed with this serum. Within 2 weeks I saw an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and the texture of my skin. I did not experience any irritation.

I really liked this product and I think my before and afters are really illuminating! I've worked up to daily use and have been trialling it for 6 weeks. It has definitely reduced redness and improved texture on my face. It's a really nice smelling serum, like cashmere, and goes on thick and smooth! I would happily use this product again. My only little quip is that the pump can be a little inconsistent, sometimes they're decent pumps and other times only a half portion comes out. The bottle recommends 1-2 pumps to cover the face and neck, but I typically need 2 pumps to cover my face and jawline. Overall it's a really nice, luxurious feeling serum that is gentle and actually works! Please remember to use a good 50+ daily sunscreen when using this product.

I had been using a lower strength retinol prior to trialling Mecca and found that the first couple of weeks, my skin needed a 3-4 day break in between uses. In saying that, there was definitely a marked difference in the lines on my forehead after each use. The next morning my skin appeared smoother. It is quite strong and like any retinol product, it did come with the usual skin flaking and break outs that accompany any use of a stronger retinol product. I do recommend it though but think that of you are new to retinol or have sensitive skin, it needs to be used sparingly and not every night until your skin adjusts.

Before I started using Mecca retinol serum, I had been using an expensive brand from the chemist. The best pro I found was that it didn't cause my semi sensitive skin to break out in acne. Especially during the first week of usage! The product looks nice to pick up and applying is quite simple. It leaves a smooth feeling on my skin after application although I feel it hasn't quite made a difference to my fine lines in my crows nest area. I use retinol purely for smoothing out the aging signs, however it takes a little longer to really notice a difference. My skin feels a little tighter in the upper cheek area after a couple weeks of application and the fragrance is nice and not overwhelming. I am quite satisfied that I'd definitely consider repurchasing it to continue my regime. Once the beginning outbreak surpasses, I'm inclined to continue as my skin is a little oily with some dry areas at times. This is a product to try!

Prior to trying the Mecca Retinol, I had been using a higher strength retinol from Neutrogena. Upon starting to use the Mecca Retinol it immediately helped my skin to purge which the Neutrogena higher strength product did not do, which eventually (after about 3 weeks) has finally led to my skin being the brightest and clearest it’s ever been. I’ll never go back to using the old Neutrogena one as I’ve fallen in love with this one! Will definitely be repurchasing and would highly recommend anyone in the market for the retinol to buy!

Used the serum for 6 weeks now. Nice packaging and applicator. Breakouts are usual counted for when trying new skincare, this didn't happen with the restoring retinol serum. The serum felt good when applying and left on my skin. Nice not overwhelming smell. Unfortunately I didn't see an improvement in my skin tone. I still have red patches and an oily skin and I don't look younger. I will continue using it and decide after if I will buy it again.

Love the product and packaging. I use it few times a week. Did not irritate my skin and will keep using it.

I love love love this product. Of course being retinol my skin was a little sensitive for the first couple of day but I started noticing immediately that my skin felt plumper and the fine lines were becoming less noticeable. I’m very excited to see how it goes once starting to apply it every day

This has really brightened my skin. I had never used a retinol serum before, but this product was not only easy to use but I saw a noticeable difference in just a week!
