Remington R4 Style Series Shaver

The shaver did a decent job providing a close shave on most areas of my face, but I had trouble with the neck. I never managed to get the stubble styler to work very well.

At full power this device sounded like it was run by hearing aid batteries. It was so slow with its blades it instantly gave me around 4 to 5 cuts on my neck. I persisted with using it until the end for the review but I could not use it a 2nd time. It left way too many rash scratches and cuts which I’ve never had before on any other shaver and left my skin feeling raw and attacked. I have an old Braun 5070 About 15yrs old which sounds like a buzz saw when switched on that leaves the skin silky smooth from a dry shave. I could tell just turning them on together just how weak this Remington was. Maybe I got a faulty device? But even so it didn’t have a speed setting so I assume that’s the only speed it can go and if it’s that slow I can’t imagine many men’s necks being too happy with the Remington R4.

The Remington R4 Style Series Shaver seemed like an excellent shaver for a certain type of beard, however my beard did not benefit from the product. However, this product had a couple of features that would be quite useful such as the piece that clips on to get a one or two day growth look. My issue was that my whiskers are very course and perhaps too course for the regular use of this product as it took quite some time to produce a smooth look and feel. I feel as though when I was younger and had more fluffy whiskers, like when I was in my teenage years, this would not have been an issue. Maybe this product would be most suited to someone who is a bit younger, or who does not have such course hair to shave everyday. This would make an ideal first electric shaver. A feature I liked I would love to feature on all razors is the attachment that gives the five o'clock shadow look. I found the trimmer to be of use and will continue to use it along with the blades I currently shave with.

The build quality was good however the three blade system seems a little rough. Having always used a normal razor blade the transiton to an electric razor was a difficult and did cause some skin iritation. This might just be my skin and your mileage may vary.

The R4 shaver is a great shaver for it's price range. It provides a good close shave and the "stubble styler" attachment is a great addition which allows a precise shave.

Initial thoughts: Product was packaged reasonably well. Instructions weren't overly complex, which was good as it held my interest as I usually stop midway through. First impressions - looks like a tidy good unit. Very happy its cordless and waterproof. My last electric shaver was probably back 10 years ago and this looks so much better. During 21 trial period: I'm lucky that I'm not overly hairy and can get by each week with only shaving 2-3 times. I really enjoyed the ability to use the Remington shaver whilst on the shower (massive plus) but I found that I wasn't happy with the 'after shave feel' - it didn't feel close enough when I felt how much stubble remained. I would ensure it was cleaned thoroughly after each use but I felt I was shaving twice as longer for an unsatisfactory shave. Hopefully it gets better over the trial period. Post trial thoughts - I was really pleased to get this opportunity to test a modern electric shaver but overall I would not recommend it.

Average shaver, worked pretty well but trimmer didnt seem to work well with thicker hair. Was good at removing excess to enable main shaver to get in to finish the job. Able to work in the shower so that is a positive and battery life so far has been great. Comes with a stubble spacer for a stubbly shave but have not used this yet. Easy to clean. Worth a look in as a daily shaver but didn't fit in with my grooming requirements.

Great product. I'm normally use razors as last time I had an electric shaver, the old one seemed to rip and pluck the hair. The Remington R4 works very well, it doesn't cause any pain and most of all gives a fantastically close smooth shave. Apparently like all electric razors it takes a couple of weeks for your skin to get used to it, when seemed to happen quickly. There was a bit of dry skin at first, however one of the great things about the Remington R4 is that it is completely water proof and I have been using it in the shower when my skin is soft and the water can wash anything away. Also, when using outside the shower over the sink there is basically nil hair dropping. All the hair catches into it which can be easily opened for emptying and cleaning of the blades. Great design, great product. Very recommended!

Easy to use and clean. Only took my skin 3 days to get used to the new shaver. Left my face very clean shaven and smooth. Great little unit with a great lasting battery.

I really thought this was a great shaver. Easy to use, fitted nicely into my hand - gave a good clean shave every day. Easy to use, effective and glided around the contours of my chin and jawline really well. All in all a good close clean and precise shave every time. Easy to clean. The only downside was that it took a long time to charge but once charged it lasted almost the whole week with daily shaving.

I was really happy with the R4 shaver. it gave a good shave and i found it comfortable to use both to hold and with it moving over my skin. I did not get any cuts from the shaver head even when using various shave techniques both wet and dry. It is very easy to clean and battery life is awesome, so far in the 21 day period it has only had one initial charge. I love the 'stubble styler' shave connector it gives a nice clean length of stubble. the sideburn trimmer was a good addition but i did find at times it would pull a bit while cutting. But this is a great all round shaver/groomer product. The only thing i wish it had was some type of stand so it can sit up on the bathroom vanity, rather than just rolling round in the draw

I found the razor so easy to use if I'm in a hurry to leave the house. It works very well

This shaver is awesome such an un expectedly close shave it is awesome

it provides the shave and clear cutting you always need on the go!!!!!
