I am usually not a fan of Indian curry, I prefer the flavours of the Singaporean / Malaysian style of curries. However I don't mind the flavour of these beans, the reason being that there is hardly any curry flavours in it. Whatever flavour there is, is very mild.
The sauce is very thick, 53% sauce / 47% beans, it is more a paste than a sauce. It probably good for serving on flat bread or something like that as it is not runny. However, the texture is like glue with not much beans or chickpeas.
Finally, made in New Zealand from imported ingredients of unknown origin doesn't give me much assurance.

Baked beans
These whitelock and sons beans are so yummy full of flavour. Packed with full of curry sauce great for rice and bread . Everyone loved it . Great for quick lunch . Highly recommended
The first taste of the curry beans seemed okay. Then once cooked and eaten in a meal with Naan bread, rice and veges. I found it nicest with the bread. However after a couple of bites, I felt the curry sauce was very salty. The beans had a nice soft texture as any baked beans which I liked.
I didn’t know how to use but assumed the curry flavour would be palatable so cooked mixed vegetables to stir through, then sprinkled with cheese. Easy use for quick meal. I personally didn’t like the curry taste.

Awesome base
Awesome base for an amazing curry perfect for kids not too hot
I loved the taste of these beans. I just heated and ate them on their own, but think they would go great with a naan or roti, or on rice. They have a rich indian curry flavour and I found the beans to be firmer than standard baked beans
The Makhani Style Curry Baked Beans were a great snack on toast but they were even better added in to our home butter chicken. They would make an awesome addition to curry dish, especially if you want to substitute or reduce your meat.
Something I wouldn’t normally buy.
It wasn’t bad if your a curry lover.
Would be good just for a quick simple meal. Taste was surprisingly good.
Just ate it on it own.
I really enjoyed this. I am not a major fan of chickpeas but I really enjoyed them with this combination. Great seeing as though they are a good source of protein.
I feel like it could have been slightly more sweet but obviously that just a personal preference.
They are very versatile and could be used in so many different ways but I ended up having them on toast and then again as a side with my main meal.
Really great and would definitely be buying them again

Killer Beans - Killer curry flavour!!
These Makhani beans are a great addition to any curry recipe! They are as tasty as! Great flavour without a massive curry hit. I jumped onto the Whitlock & Sons recipe website (on the can) & found a number of recipes I'm keen to try, & one I did try with these beans. I cooked the 'Chicken & Makhani Bean Tray Bake'recipe. It's a fantastic curry flavour. We really enjoyed it & the next day I tried some more of the beans one their own on toast. Better than baked beans on toast!! I would definitely go back for more of these beans.
This product wasn’t for me, I think I am too fond of standard beans. The product was of good quality though and a good size. Perhaps would be better with a baked potato
